IMAGERY AND MEDIA SERVICES

  • THE AUDIENCE.

Who is this media, theses photos and videos, for? Maybe you need imagery for your club website, social media or newsletter. Or perhaps you want to communicate to members more. Do you require creative imagery and video to share your course with the world?

  • TEE IT UP.

Get your project and budget signed off by your General Manager, Director of Golf, Club Committee. This project business case should include the deliverables of the media pack / set of images you are seeking. Get in touch if you need assistance in putting this together.

  • THE PROCESS.

No golf course is akin to another and a project typically begins with a phone call or email of interest in having their golf course(s) photographed - see the button below! We then work out together by asking lots of questions to find out exactly what the golf course and club wants and needs are.

After thorough consideration of the project’s scope, I send a proposal which is finalised together. Upon agreement, the contract is signed and the dates of the photo-shoot are confirmed, normally subject to course readiness, weather forecast and light conditions.

  • THE SHOOT.

Once the date has been set, we keep in contact so that ongoing course maintenance, tournaments and events do not conflict with the planned photo-shoot. The best time to shoot in the morning is generally the first two hours after sunrise - that’s also the time for the green keeping team is preparing the course for the day’s play. We work together to ensure the green-keeping team are kept away from the holes being showcased that morning so as to avoid making tracks in the dew or interrupting the photo shoot by their presence (this is particularly important when shooting video as drone photography captures such a large area).

The more flexibility there is with the tee sheet, the more efficient I can be as the course photographer, especially when time is limited and the days get shorter.

  • THE DELIVERABLES.

Upon the shoot’s completion, several days are spent editing and retouching images, collating and producing drone and video work. Turnaround time for receiving the edited images is generally two to three weeks depending on the amount of post production necessary. Exceptions are always made if there are immediate needs for the photos, in which case we generally build in a “expedited” fee into the contract.

Once I return the high-resolution images the club has full, unlimited usage of the photos for all marketing, advertising and social media purposes.
